Sick Visits

When your child isn’t feeling well, waiting to see a doctor can feel like an eternity. Fevers tend to come on suddenly (especially in the evenings when your doctor’s office is closed!), and a busy pediatric practice may not be able to see your child immediately. UrgiKids provides same-day sick visits for any of the following on a walk-in basis:

Injuries and Wound Care

Accidents happen, but they sure are scary! UrgiKids provides skilled pediatric urgent care so you can be sure you’re in the right hands if your child has been injured. Our doctors practice pediatric medicine exclusively and are trained to handle injuries swiftly and efficiently while minimizing anxiety, fear and pain. Come to see us for any the following:

We know that you often need lab results and x-rays fast! That’s why UrgiKids is equipped with an on-site lab that uses the latest technology. Our skilled radiology technicians and pediatric nurses are always available for the following procedures:

  • RSV/Flu Testing
  • Strep Testing

When should I take my child directly to the emergency room?

Call 911 or take your child directly to the emergency room if an accident is potentially life-threatening or could lead to permanent disability. Such situations include:

  • Choking
  • Your child has stopped breathing or is turning blue
  • Possible poisoning
  • Head injury with passing out, vomiting
  • Injury to the neck or spine
  • A severe burn
  • A seizure lasting 3–5 minutes
  • Bleeding that can’t be stopped
  • High fever with a headache and stiff neck
  • Suddenly not able to speak, see, walk or move
  • Coughing or throwing up blood
  • A body part near an injured bone is numb, tingling, weak, cold or pale
  • An unusual or bad headache or chest pain
  • Signs of dehydration, such as a dry mouth, no tears, or no wet diapers in 18 hours, or soft spot in the skull is sunken
